Welcome and thank you for visiting our class website! The beginning of a new school year can be exciting and overwhelming at times. Before the school year begins moving forward, I would like to tell you a little about myself. I have been working with children for over 12 years from infant to eighteen years of age. I began my college career knowing I wanted to teach children. My main focus has been to inspire, support, and teach children to be confident and compassionate individuals.

I grew up in Tacoma, Washington and graduated from the University of Washington in 2014 with a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences. The following year, I volunteered in multiple grade levels in order to gain exposure and build experience working in education. In 2016, I returned to the University of Washington to complete a graduate program in K-8 Education. After completing the program in August 2017,  my husband and I moved to Santa Rosa and I began substitute teaching in Santa Rosa City Schools and the Bellevue Union School District. After several months of substitute teaching, I accepted a 5th grade position at Kawana for the remainder of the year. Last year I accepted a temporary position teaching 5th grade at Gravensten, and this year I'm fortunate enough to be teaching amazing 4th graders here at Gravenstein again. Go Grizzlies!

My overall personal philosophy is to create a positive learning environment for my students. I have implemented many positive behavior supports to encourage your children to do their personal best and treat those around them with kindness. As an educator, my goal is to developmentally challenge your child and give them the academic study skills, accountability, organizational strategies, and responsibility that they will need to succeed in life.
